40 is remarkably like 39
Only without the 3 and the 9. There's a 4 and a 0 instead. This was not obvious to me until today. Eleni made me a new friendship bracelet. Bela picked and arranged this bouquet for me. Jeff made me coffee and we spent about an hour together making a new playlist for my ipod which now includes this 30 year old song by Yaz that I love so much (I'm sorry it's so synth-y, I'm old). Roman said "happy birthday to me Mommy". All the kids made a birthday hat for Cash to wear, so it's sorta like Cash said happy birthday right up until he pawed it off and ran away. Then they made me a ginormous banana-nutella smoothie and banana-nutella toast which I choked down with a big smile on my face. Pierrette showed up to work with a 6pack of Stella, pink roses and red velvet cupcakes. In just two years she has gotten to know me really well. Tonight we are going out for burgers with the kids. Then maybe ice cream too.
I love it so far.
