16 past noon on Saturday. All of our ornament & decking boxes are piled up on the dining room table. Sunshine is pouring in. Loukoumades are rising on the kitchen counter. Under a towel I made more than 3 years ago, which has held up quite nicely. I'm so glad I've used it. I hope we have enough honey. Getting the tree today.

Lovely. Is this towel made out of quilter's cotton? I would love to know what you used to make this and if it is double sided?
ReplyDeleteIt is a kokka cotton from a few years ago, sort of heavier than standard quilting cotton, its a project from my first book. Just single sided :)
ReplyDeleteYum! We make a similar sweet fried dough called Pinulata. The honey syrup is the best part, imho!!

ReplyDeleteGo together almost as well as loukoumathes fried in the the year's new olive oil--fresh from the mill a day or two after the olives are picked. Truly does have a flavor of the fresh outdoors. And, God willing, we'll be doing just that in a few short weeks with your brother.
My mouth is watering at the thoughts! I've not seen them in the UK but the recipe is now bookmarked :)

ReplyDeleteLoukoumades look delicious. Like a Greek version of dutch oliebols. Or oliebols are the dutch version of loukoumades :)
