Roman challenge: occupying oneself while most siblings are off to school.
Mom challenge: see above.
Roman challenge: balancing a yardstick in the dump bed of a toy truck.
Mom challenge: resisting talking about things like physics with a 2 year old.
Roman challenge: wearing pants.
Mom challenge: finding pants. Roman's pants that is. I found mine.
Roman challenge: finding the nesting cube that fits head the best.
Mom challenge: deciding which family member to send the picture to first (subject line of "blockhead", natch).
Roman challenge: deciding on exact Anna Maria sticker placement for maximum awesomeness.
Mom challenge: trying not to sing at the top of my lungs with Dolly to "I will always love you". (Singing, in general, is a challenge for me.)
over and out, anna & roman
(And from the looks of the photo I would have to add that vacuuming is a challenge.)
Ok...that is too cute!! He even put a sticker on his leg *giggle*. LOL I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteAlways sing at the top of your lungs when singing along with Dolly... pretty sure it makes all other challenges resolve themselves painlessly, or at least with little effort.
ReplyDeleteSinging is a challenge for me too. Actually, more of a challenge for the people that have to listen to it!
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective from mother and son. haha. vacuuming is always a challenge to keep up with in my house, and I don't even have kids!
ReplyDeleteThat is hysterical. Seriously -the stickers are it.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dolly is the best.
And I need to vacuum my floor sooooo so so bad....
So cute - those days go by so fast and then they're 11 like mine... sniffle.
ReplyDeleteThank you for not vacuuming your floor! It makes me feel sooo much better about mine :)

Good to know my children are not the only ones who like to repurpose creative tools. My 10 mo old gets into hysterics by pulling fabric pieces off my quilt wall. She and Roman would have a blast! Keep enjoying mommy-hood AMH and sing Loudly!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest is about the same age as Roman and we often have the same pants challenge :). HE IS SO ADORABLE!!!
ReplyDeleteAw the wee man is all grown up. I love your blog, website and fabrics. Living in Scotland I find it hard to find the fabrics I really want so where most people have a savings pot, I have an Anna Maria Horner pot and when I have saved enough I am placing an order for a nice, glorious, fat bundle of bursts of colour. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteCarol
Love this.... here's to all those mom and toddler challenges.
ReplyDeleteHe is such a cutie, AM. I understand where you are coming from about entertaining a little one, who happens to be impossibly curious, while trying to accomplish other things. Even the little things take forever when you have to say things like, "Please don't stick your finger under the needle on Mommy's sewing machine. I'll let you help me in a minute." That never seems to convince Layla... Anyway, Roman is a cutie for sure. I know I don't have to tell you this, but enjoy that little guy. He'll be a handsome man before long.
ReplyDeleteHey, he's got a shirt on with the diaper. Forget pants, mine will mostly ONLY wear a diaper/underwear! No matter what the temp!
ReplyDeleteSo much to love in one little photo.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you for blogging instead of vacuuming. Time well spent!
Too Cute!
ReplyDeleteI think he knows exactly what he wants to do.
The vacumming will always wait, better to document so you do not forget these prescious days, thanks for sharing.
Respond to the picture from my 4 yo daughter: "Mommy. I like that baby. I want him. Can we buy him?" :D
ReplyDeletelol! What an adorable little pantsless blockhead!
ReplyDeleteSo what happened after this because I know it wasn't a nap. I know his kind...en-er-gy! I'll bet he needed to refuel and the two of you had a milk dumptruck, cheerio time. ;) and the vacumming...it can wait.
ReplyDeleteLife with a 2 year old son is never dull is it! I always wonder what state I am going to find my son/house in after he was worked his magic! Bless his little heart. Jacinta
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up. I love it.
ReplyDeleteBut certainly a happy, busy guy! And I don't see him covering his ears Mama!
ReplyDeleteHaha :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like the singing comment. It reminds me of my sister. She doesn't sing very well but really enjoys it so she's always very happy to go to a church with a very loud organ. :)
Love the photo of your lil boy, he's a real cutie & i know what you mean about the whole singing thing, i usually just go for it anyway much to the dismay of my girls :)
ReplyDeleteSomeday!!!!!
Karen x
vacuuming is always a challenge, especially because I know it'll prob need to be done again the following day! Roman is too cute....I miss those little boy days of play.
ReplyDeleteYour little boy is soooo cute! Love the singing comment!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Mina
Oh, he is tooo cute. Love the picture... reminds me of when I little brother went around with a cardboard soda box on his head.
ReplyDeleteXX Achaia
PS Do you have Pinterest??
it's a beautiful gig, miss anna. i can't believe how big roman is now! it seems like just yesterday he was a teeny lil fella!
ReplyDeleteLove that 'hat' on Roman. Cute picture.
ReplyDeleteReminds me so much of my three year old daughter, so absorbed in what they are doing that they have no time at all for social presentation...I envy them so much! :) x
ReplyDeleteAdorable! the cutest little legs you just want to squeeze them! Totally agree with singing to Dolly. Right now Dolly, Linda and Emmylou singing To Know Him is To Love Him is buzzing me round the house... also no vacuuming as you can't hear the music.
ReplyDelete*Love*. Reminds me of my boy. He won't wear pants either, but loves anything that resembles a hat (except hats).
ReplyDeletePS - I also want to know if you have Pinterest. :)
Ahahaha! You are so funny! Maximum awesomeness achieved!
ReplyDeleteYou can vacuum in a few years... what a cutie. By the way I am glad your school has started. I salute that because here in Michigan it is law that public schools wait till after labor day, for tourism. The private schools star earlier.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog.
So sweet! Aren't little kids awesome!
ReplyDeleteSome fairly sweet challenges you had there....love your perspective on it all.
ReplyDeleteThat's a smart looking hat! I never look this good when I wear cubes on my head.
ReplyDeleteChildren of that age are a challenge full stop. Great pic...made me smile,
ReplyDeleteDawn x
I say to Roman: enjoy these 'pants optional' years while you can! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd vaccuumming...that's for the birds. LOL
You had me laughing out loud in this post! Too cute and funny! Thanks for the fun!
ReplyDeleteIf that doesn't say why having kids is the most awesome thing ever, I don't know what does. LOVE that photo! It speaks volumes about Roman's mind. : )
ReplyDeleteForget the vacuuming....a clean house is the sign of a mis-spent life...besides, children shouldn't live in a clean house (mostly clean will do)
ReplyDeleteHELP!! I LOVE that fabric in the quilt in this photo, which fabric and color is it? Would love to make a quilt or something like this one, is there another picture of this somewhere?
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE that yellow quilt!! What is that fabric?
ReplyDeleteGotta love the imagination of a child. Just adorable.
ReplyDeleteAnd one does not need pants when you are just hanging out at home.
he is so cute..and i like singing comment most..really good!!
ReplyDeleteI think this post just made me want to have children!
ReplyDeleteBoy can I relate! My 3 year old Grand daughter and her bigger, 5 year old brother live with me. He is now in kindergarten and she is always naked.
