:: Patchwork of wool, and a smidge of linen (sneak peek of my linens for 04/13)
:: Hand-quilting a baby quilt of Field Study Voiles (shipping any day now)
:: Drawer of crochet sunshines getting full but not full enough (pattern my own rendering)
:: My first EVER knitting project!!! Watched this class with Debbie Stoller and it all finally clicked (then clacked, then knitted, then purled and so on)
:: My growing yarn bowl was in need of some new color (mostly merinos from Manos del Uruguay)
:: The sidewalk is getting crunchier every day (the bright hues giving way to some more somber tones)
:: Our family room mantle awaits the arrival of (hopefully) another pinch pot turkey next week
thanks for the visit, xoxoAnna
What a lovely peek into your life. Inspiring as always!!
ReplyDeleteI am blown away that that's your first knitting project - it's lovely and you are clearly a natural. :) xo
ReplyDeleteSigh. I used to heart you SO much. Now I'm miffed. THAT's your first ever knitting project? How is that possible? ;)
ReplyDeletehahhaha, oh love me, please love me. I do plan on splainin myself some more on the knitting here soon. It has completed eluded me for years until I saw a visual lace pattern, and it somehow made a lot more sense to me than all of the written patterns that I have tried to do (for about 5 seconds). I am a visual learner, and watching a video helped me immensely!

Yay for knitting! Thank you for the lovely peak into your home.
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful, AM! I'm curious, though. Is the linen your second linen release or is the stuff that's due in January being pushed back to April? I'm so excited to get my hands on the new voiles and rayon.
ReplyDeleteThe crochet is great and I love that dresser!
ReplyDeleteOh, AMH linens!! I can't wait for those. I am also shocked that that is your first knitting project. I haven't advanced past the knit and purl.
ReplyDeleteHold on.
ReplyDeleteThat? That gorgeous piece of loveliness is your "first" knit project?
(in my most melodramatic-back of the hand to my forehead voice...) Life is unfair!
This post is full of beauty. I am happy, at least we get to enjoy seeing what you make, Anna Maria... your art is a real treat for the senses.
I'm working on knitting a scarf with a pattern almost like that!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your pinch pot collection. I have one my oldest son made an I treasure it.
Ha! First off, you're knitting lace, no less! I still can't knit lace - I'm like Mr. Bennett, "No lace, Mrs. Bennett, I beg you!" Jeesh!
ReplyDeleteWell, the sky's the limit for you as far as knitting goes if you can knit lace for your first project. :D
I had to laugh when I saw your photo on Flickr and it said your first ever knitting. Oh to be as awesome as Anna Maria Horner. If knitting ever eluded you, then you have put it firmly in its place.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally impressed by your knitting project. I started learning how to knit last year, after giving up on the idea years ago. I can relate to being a visual learner and have also found a few video tutorials that just seem to add such clarity to the process. I'll check out the link you provided. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteEleni gave me one of the needle point projects from your book and since I am at home with food poisoning, I'm already half-way done! I've never done needle point before but i LOVE it already!
ReplyDeleteI love a bowl of colorful yarn on these beautiful fall days. I can't get over the season here in SC. I'm sure your Nashville day is gorgeous as well!
ReplyDeleteOh yay for LINENS! VOILES! and yarn creations. Gorgeous, all.
ReplyDeleteAnna, have you joined Ravelry? It is fantastic for anything knitting or crochet. There are many easy patterns for free there. I'm on there as atomicblue.
ReplyDeleteIf you join, see my favorites for ideas!
Just lovely, all of it! I love your palette:-) Can't believe that is your first knitting project! I think I stuck with garter stitch square things for a year before I even dared try to purl;-)
ReplyDeleteI can taste color and that first picture is making me lose my mind with happiness. You have made my afternoon.
ReplyDeleteFor your first EVER knitting project -Uau- congratulation! You are going very well.
ReplyDeleteLove these type of posts. My corner in the living room is just full of various crafty projects strewn all over the place, good to know that I'm not the only one that does several things at the same time :)
ReplyDeleteVery good and interesting site with very good look and perfect information ... I like it.
ReplyDeleteThe crochet is great and I love that dresser!
