Cutting it Close

cutting.it.close

I am in rare but typical Anna form. Cutting and sewing something completely last minute for an event tonight here in Nashville. I think I just figured out why I rarely do my hair. I'm too busy making what I'm going to wear to any exciting event.

Anyway this is the tease. I have a few snips left and I think I will have myself a dress. Back tomorrow with the reveal (fingers triple crossed behind my back (impressive considering I'm also typing, right?)) and with more fun info about this amazing show that is here this summer!

Will she do it?

Will she be wearing a handmade dress to the museum tonight?

Check back tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel!!!

You, go, Anna! Life is more exciting when you're living on the edge...the "cutting" edge, that is!
You'll be the belle of the Nashville ball!

  24. oh you are totally doing it and your makeup will be flawless. My only hope is that you leave a sink full of dishes, dog hair collecting in the corners ( or everywhere) perhaps Roman with a poopie diaper. Bigger kids watching "I Carly" Biggest kid with the understanding that she is in change as long as she lives with you and you are out of the house. And husband realizes that "I made this dress, I rock, we are out without children, I'm not drunk yet, and boy are you LUCKY!"

Have fun! I'm living vicariously! Obviously.

  25. Oh gosh, thanks for the clarification. I'm sure you pulled off something amazing in any case but if you had made the dress on that flier at the very last minute???? My mind was very nearly blown until I read your comment. Thanks for keeping my brain intact. I like it better this way, I think.

  30. I JUST read about the show in my Harper's Bazaar last night - I'm completely jealous, although I could drive to it, it's just a few hours away. I think there's just one more week to enjoy the exhibit, no? Anyway, have a GREAT time and I can't wait to see the dress!

  31. I can't wait to see the end result! Whenever I try and do things like this last minute, I find myself making an even later last minute trip to a clothing store. :) But I can't imagine you having my issues!

  32. You are so talented Anna-- and you see, no one will look at your hair, because the dress I'm sure stole the show! I'm glad to hear I am not the only one who does things like this. Having a party tomorrow night and still have to make 4 chair slip covers 2 cushions and a patchwork tablecloth! ;)
Hope you enjoyed your night at the museusm.

  39. After reading this post, I made a dash to the Frist website and organized my plans for a visit to see the above mentioned exhibit. I went with a dear friend during the Frist Friday event a few days ago and absolutely loved it! Why don't we dress like that anymore...there's is just so much to love about it. Anyways, thanks for the heads-up and lovely dress posts.
