Photos for the book that you won't find in the book but that I like so much

eating.two.for.two

I can't even begin to imagine just exactly how many photos we took for the book. Angela was and is such an amazing photographer to work with. I was always verbalizing the h--- out of every shoot we did, what I was hoping for, how I thought we should do it, the cropping I was envisioning, and she was always just like: okay. And I was always like: is she listening? The fact is, she completely did not need direction, instinctually did everything right, and I hugged her every time I felt like it which was often. Poor girl. Point being, there are so many funny, sweet, beautiful, perfect photos that never got a chance to be in the book. There always are. Either the cropping won't work out for the page size or the project isn't shown from a view that conveys the construction well enough or there just isn't enough room in the book or the baby is just too stinking cute and it would make everyone pass out. Or it could be the photo of me above that really just shouldn't be printed anywhere. 'Cept on my blog of course. You lucky readers you. The above does show what the Mariposa Dress looks like tied in front instead of in back as the book cover shows. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share a few more....

hide.and.sleep.quilt

Katherine interprets the Hide & Seek Spectrum Quilt as hide and sleep. Quilts are for sleeping you dumb designer lady.

hey.whasthisdo

Marios figures out how to run my dryer about a lightyear faster than I did. He's wearing the Quick Change Trousers (they're reversible!)

85degree.jacket.modeling.w.a.2yr.old

Reuben is not down with modeling a flannel-lined hooded jacket in 85degree weather. It is true what they say about models, they are so unreasonably difficult!!! (I love you Reuben) He learned a new word that day. OFF!

daddy.dat.kina.squishes

Roman gets a little cheek squoosh as he and my dear husband model the Dad Bag. (Which he swore he would never use but uses all the flippin time.)

dream.boy

This would fall under the too cute category. Sigh. Where did teeny-tiny Roman go? He's sleeping on the Sixth's Times the Charm Quilt.

pretty.as.a.picture

I'm sorry baby Carrie, it's not legal in the continental US to be this adorable, therefore we could not publish this photo. Better luck next time. Try looking uncute next time, kay? She's wearing the Pretty-as-a-Picture Dress. I guess she took us literally.

unbelievably.sweet.Claire

And printing this one of Claire would have caused nationwide ovulation.

look.ma

And again, Marios the genius playing with the Nesting Cubes.

Hope you enjoyed these. I have nothing against hiring professional models but this book simply employed incredibly beautiful kids that I just happen to know already. Lucky me. I love all of you darling babies and your moms and dads too!

Tell me which one is your favorite in the comments and I'll draw a few names to send you a signed copy of the book! And an 8x10 glossy of me eating cheeseburgers too!

I'm kidding about that glossy.

ps. handmade beginnings flickr group is up and running!! Please share your photos, questions and any errata you come across!

  4. pahahha worldwide ovulation.

  5. The photo with you and the burgers is so cute. As far as the kiddo shots, it's a tossup between Marios at the dryer or little Carrie. Cute outtakes!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Oh my gosh, they're all adorable. I love you & your cheeseburgers!! I think out of the baby one, my favorite is Roman (squoosh) and his dad. :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Do I have to pick? I guess my favorite is handsome Mario with the dryer.. no sweet Carrie, those eyes! She is darling! And Romans's smooshed face. It makes me want another and my son is only 9 months! Oh No! Love the pictures and can't wait to win the book. Or scoop it up if that doesn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I love Marios at the dryer...adorable! Plus it really shows of the cute pants!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nationwide ovulation indeed! So cute. I love Reuben trying to get out of that shirt. Love his belly button!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Baby Carrie is so sweet! The dress looks darling too. I love the 1st picture though, I'm 21weeks along with baby #2 and it makes me want a burger!

Looks like a lovely book from what I've seen, can't wait to look at it myself!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I like the Dad Bag photo. Your husband has hot forearms!

    ReplyDelete
  12. These are all great and adorable pictures! Since I love baby pictures, I have to say the one with baby Roman getting squished by his daddy's arm is my favourite! So CUTE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't know that it's possible to pick one. But if I had to choose it would be Roman on the quilt because I'm pregnant (27 weeks) with my third and so dreaming about that tiny baby stage and remembering how precious and difficult it is.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh the little face sqoosh. I love little baby cheeks!

    ReplyDelete
  15. The one of Rueben, FOR SURE! Love that pictures...but you eating cheeseburgers is super great too!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Now really, baby Carrie in that dress? It IS illegal. She needs to be stopped.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh my goodness! I love Carrie's picture! She is so totally adorable.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Angela is my hero. I look at her site for inspiration all the time. These are wonderful!

  20. I think I'm digging Carrie the most - although give me an hour and I'll come back with another answer. I'm like a bird.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I do love the photo of you with the hamburgers. But as for the baby photos, I just love the one of Mario with the dryer :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ohmygosh! Reuben's belly button! ADORABLE! And yes, beware the nationwide ovulation that those photos are going to cause!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love them all, too stinkin cute as you say but the one of Reuben is super.I can hear him saying "off". Way too cute.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Really, all of them are beautiful - I am particularly drawn to the Hide & Seek Spectrum Quilt photo... perhaps once my sewing skills are a little more refined, I will give it a whirl...

    ReplyDelete
  25. How to choose, how to choose...ok, I will go with Carrie, who certainly made my insides cry out 'oh, let's have another baaaaaaaaaby' for about a minute. Seriously though, all of them are so adorable and I do agree with the commenter - your husband's arms are HOT. Love your blog..the colors, the creativity - am in awe of your ENERGY, actually. I read often but don't think I've ever commented - you are part of what inspired me to buy a sewing machine last weekend and FINALLY start sewing again!

    ReplyDelete
  26. It has to be the Daddy face squoosh - too cute! And what a typical male turnaround, my DH is just the same...

Woulr lurve the book : )

    ReplyDelete
  29. Aww. . . I love little squished Roman! So funny!

    ReplyDelete
  30. you are darling with the burgers. i also like the one of your husband with your squishy faced babe. they are all adorable.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They are all so cute, I want to have a baby!
My favorite would be Reuben wanting to take his shirt off. I know that feeling all too well, it is quite hot here. But I guess it isn't appropriate to do so when you are 26 :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh my goodness, the "off" one is hilarious!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. the cheek squoosh is heavenly...but so is carrie! love them all.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I will have to admit Claire and Marios are my favorites, those babies are just so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Those are all winners. I love that you shared these fun and amazing images. Dangerous too... I think you may start a fertility spike.

My favorite: You, and those burgers. Because honest humor is beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's a toss up between the picture of Carrie (so cute with those big chocolate brown eyes!)and the cheek squooshed Roman. I used to carry my babies that way all the time (they loved it) and got many a horrified look from people. "Oh- the poor baby. You shouldn't carry him/her like that". I've always looked very young for my age and so got lots of "helpful advice" about how I "should" care for babies. I took the Madagascar penquin approach- smile and nod and go blithely on my way. And the kids turned out great.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ohhhh, I love the washing machine one. His face is priceless.

    ReplyDelete
  38. oh, baby claire! she makes me want 10 more.... :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's a hard choice they're all so stinkin cute (even the burger one) but I'm going with Reuben with his "off" comment since my 23 mo old grandson now tells me in no uncertain terms "NO JACKET." sheesh!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Claire! I can't look at it - much too soon for me to have another baby just yet! You should have a 2nd book of just the outtakes. It seems that everything you show us, is just SO inspiring! Can you give away more time to sew along with your book?!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm going to go with Reuben~he's so darling in the photo that is in the book and just as sweet with that little belly!
    Happy new book to you!

    ReplyDelete
  42. It would have to be the little boy who learned "OFF." Boy was that CUTE!!! A very close 2nd is Roman with his Dad bag.

SO cute, I would LOVE to see the rest of the pictures in the book.

    ReplyDelete
  43. They're all great photos, but for me it has to be baby Carrie in that beautiful red dress. That calm intense gaze is just so babyish and wonderful - before they learn to be shy!

    ReplyDelete
  44. The burger picture is my favorite. Is it you so cute? Is it the burger that is making me hungry? Great picture!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The little boy trying to take off the jacket...too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think you are adorable with the hamburgers but... honestly it has to be the one with your husband and Roman. Because I am a sucker for a guy with a baby (and a bag) :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Favorite? It's like trying to pick your favorite child -- they're all cheek-pinching cute! Roman's squooshed face in the Dad Bag shot is adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm going with Reuben too - what a cutie.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like Roman's squished face! Too cute! :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I like the one with Marios and the dryer the best. Those pants!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Pick a favorite? How about my top three? OK, then: I love the one of you with the burgers, I feel for poor Reuben, and I love Roman's squooshed face in the Dad Bag picture. I want to gobble him up!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh my goodness... the one of Carrie in the "Pretty as a Picture" Dress is just adorable, those eyes with those eyelashes, really just breath-taking.
I am not sure I can handle this book it might give me a wicked case of baby fever.
I really do love the cheeseburger picture as well, something about your braided pigtails and shoving the cheeseburger in your mouth, the counterpoint of being able to be so child like while being pregnant. Very cute.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The cheeseburgers! Pregnancy gives that wonderful license to eat. If only it just vanished after. You look adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love so many of them!!! But my favorite would have to be Carrie- she is too too darling and I can't wait to make that dress she is wearing!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Love little Reuben trying to take the flannel jacket off! What a cutie!

    ReplyDelete
  56. It's tough to pick, but I would swoop up that Carrie and smooch her if I could. She is a beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I love them all...but I have to go with the one of Reuben!!! How adorable can that be..!!!

(You and the burguers is really my favorite...but you better not know about that :) )

    ReplyDelete
  58. All adorable the cheek smoosh one is priceless!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. GREAT Pictures! I had a hard time choosing a favorite, but I love the one of Roman and your hubby, the cheek squoosh is just too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  60. This is a tough call because I love a photo of lady in a pretty dress double fisting hamburgers but Roman's smushy face has won me over. I love the ease and confidence that Dads have carrying around their little ones and this captures it perfectly.

thanks for sharing and congrats on your new book!

    ReplyDelete
  61. The burgers picture, that's my preferred way of eating them too...

    ReplyDelete
  62. My favorite is the dad bag picture! I thought the look on that baby's face was too much! But I love how colorful and bright all the pictures are. I LOVE that about the things you make!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I am loving Marios little soft belly and arm roll... too cute!
When I saw your book was for sale I sent it to my hubby saying "I need this for mothers day". We're expecting our first baby in November, so perfect timing! Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  64. The burgers! That's amazingly adorable!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Baby Carrie is adorable. And, thanks to these pictures, I want a squooshy little babe to hold!

    ReplyDelete
  66. my favorite is sleeping Roman on the sixth-times-a-charm quilt, because it reminds me of my five month old boy just five months ago....your book looks so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Teeny Tiny Roman on the charm quilt - up until then I was sure I was done with having babies......

    ReplyDelete
  68. Very sweet photos ... I chuckled at the captions almost as much as at the pictures!! Little Reuben ... the look on his face ... and the struggle with his clothes ... I can almost hear him cry: OFF! Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  69. belle:)11:12 AM

ALMOST impossible to pick!!! I'm going to go with Carrie, because the color of her dress sings to me. Roman with the Dad Bag is pretty stinkin' cute, too. But then there is Marios with the Quick Change Trousers..... and of course your cheese burgers. I've never double fisted cheeseburgers before.... great idea. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wow, are you trying to make me have another baby? Well, if I had to chose a favorite, it would be the "Off" pic, too cute and reminds me of my son.

Thanks for the giveaway, heres hoping I win!

    ReplyDelete
  71. omg!!!!! so many cute pic's there the man carrying baby and boy at the washing machine are the best of the lot!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I love them all - seriously great photos! and some fabulous peeks at great projects as well! i think my favorite would have to be sleeping Roman on that gorgeous quilt... but ah, those photos of carrie and claire are getting me too! oh, and reuben trying to get that hoodie off - what a great expression!

can't wait to get your book. would be totally thrilled with an autographed copy!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I love the I-can't-believe-you-put-me-in-flannel look on Reuben's face. Poor kid.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Gorgeous. All of them. Baby Carrie's brown eyes are killing me, though. Adorable! (And that red dress - swoon!)

    ~Keri

    ReplyDelete
  75. I could look at pictures of babies all day. Roman on the quilt is my favorite with all other pictures tied for second.

    Alice

    ReplyDelete
  76. It's hard to pick just one...and I'm tempted to say the first one with you eating the cheeseburge (oh my, I need something to eat!).
But choosing between all those cute babies I'd settle for Roman on your husband's arm...I think it's the contrast between those strong manly arms and a tiny cute baby that gets me. Every time...*sigh*....

    ReplyDelete
  77. I love Rueben and "off" photo. Too classic and so like my toddler.
    I also like your cheeseburger photo...again, it's a classic...

    ReplyDelete
  78. The Roman cheek smoosh (which sounds like an awesome UFC maneuver).

    ReplyDelete
  79. They're all so adorable! But I think my favourite one would have to be Carrie.
And I am looking forward to getting my hands on your book and getting some stuff ready for when my baby girl arrives (end of August!).

    ReplyDelete
  80. I've got to go with dark eyes on beautiful baby Carrie.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oh, it's tough to pick just one. Cute, cute babies! The one of distressed Reuben is pretty adorable, but that photo of Carrie has kicked my nesting urges up into high gear. (And I'm not even pregnant.)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Big Reuban fan over here.

I was due four days ago. That was my shameless appeal for a pity prize.

    ReplyDelete
  83. These are all so cute. It's not fair to have to choose a favorite. So...Roman in the face squoosh, Carrie (amazing), Reuben obviously saying "OFF". All so adorable.

Thanks so much for sharing these precious photos.

Oh, and the one of you is amazing as well. The book is already ordered and I'm anxiously waiting for it to arrive...

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm obsessed with the one of marios with the boxes! how adorable. makes me want a baby right now! just have to wait until i get out of school in december...

    ReplyDelete
  85. I love the picture of Claire. And of Marios working the washing machine!

They are all so cute, even the one of you eating. :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. How to choose! I think the "off" one is my favorite. Kids are so honest, aren't they?! :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Too cute. My favorite is baby Carrie. I'm not even married yet (almost!) and now I want a baby. Good thing it's not in the book!

    ReplyDelete
  88. ALL of those sweet babies are too SWEET!! I have to say tho' that the "cheeseburger - cheeseburger" takes the cake (or... in your case, the burger)!! As my man and I ponder over a sweet baby #5, I'm hesitant to catch even the slightest glimpse of your book as it might plunge me head over heels yet again into blankets and booties and SWEETNESS!! Truth is, I can't wait to see it :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. I LOVE the cheeseburger photo, but my favorite baby photo is Roman's cheek squoosh... photos of dads and babies ALWAYS get me... too precious!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Oh, my.... they're all so wonderful! But I just can't resist baby Carrie's eyes!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. oh. mah. goodness. baby carrie's eyes about melted me on the spot. my fave caption, however, involves "nationwide ovulation." i'm pretty sure it's working on me. don't tell my husband.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I like the one of Reuben removing the flannel hooded jacket. A close 2nd is of Roman on his dad's arm.

    ReplyDelete
  93. They are all just too cute, but if I had to chose, I think that baby Carrie is maybe just the prettiest thing I've ever seen! She's got a bright future as a model, 'cause whatever she's selling, I'm buying for sure! Such adorable shots, thanks so much for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  94. yesterday I wanted a lab puppy....now, after these photos, I want a baby!! Love your site and these photos...especially the "two-fisted eater!" Thanks for providing so much inspiration.

    ReplyDelete
  95. The cheek squoosh one!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Oh they are all too adorable but my favorite is tiny Roman on the sixth time's a charm quilt. I'm due with my sixth in November that picture just melted my heart!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Are you kidding? It's Carrie, what eyes! I haven't seen the book yet, but how big do the clothes go up to? I've got a 20 month old that would look cute in some of these things, but she grows so fast!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think baby Carrie is absolutely adorable! Those eyes!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. the babies are super cute, but I just love the one of you munching on the cheeseburgers!

    ReplyDelete
  100. LOVE little Reuben in the flannel jacket. poor little man! what a trooper!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh my gosh, I like them all! I like the photo of you eating a burger, but the one of Reuben trying to get his shirt off is adorable.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Squooshy-cheeked Roman helping papa model the Dad Bag - that's my fave!

    ReplyDelete
  104. All of these photos and little ones are soooo cute. Baby Carrie is going to break some hearts as she gets older. Those eyes and eye lashes are so vibrant!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Kinsey11:32 AM

The little boy trying take the jacket off! That's too funny.

    ReplyDelete
  106. For me, it's definitely a tie between Reuben in mid-meltdown and Roman's cheek squoosh!

Thanks for sharing these terrific outtakes!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Is it terrible that I think pics of babies crying are so cute? The one of Reuben is adorable. I just love when their little lips start to pucker and pout. Maybe it's because that's the only time in life that no matter what you do you're cute. Even having fat chubby legs is cute. Now? Not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Gotta love Mario and the nesting cubes! Exactly what my kids would have done with them. :)
Congrats on the new book! If I don't win one, I'm going to have buy one! Cuz, I need more crafting type books, you know. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  109. If you want a FAVORITE, I need nine categories.........they are all so flippin' cute! And I NEED that book, because I am finally getting my first grandchild later this year....so I am beyond want and have gotten to NEED!! Kristy in Ohio

    ReplyDelete
  114. I just found out I am pregnant this week so I would LOVE to win a copy of this book! My favorite pic is Roman and Dad...so sweet. Your "nationwide ovulation" line made me laugh out loud at work.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Baby Carrie looks so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  116. OMG! It's a toss up between Carrie with those enormous brown eyes and you eating with that burger. Decisions, decisions!

    ReplyDelete
  117. obvi they're ALL adorable, but honestly, I love the cheeseburger shot...

    ReplyDelete

  120. Courtney11:44 AM

It's hard to decide since they're all so precious, but that Mario is ADORABLE!!! He is so effortlessly playful with those nesting blocks! Can't wait for the new book! It seems like everyday another friend is preggers and I'm running out of ideas :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. I love the one of you eating the cheeseburgers, it reminds me of when I was pregnant except insert burritos instead of cheeseburgers ;)

    ReplyDelete
  122. They're all great! I love Baby Carrie because she's just so dang beautiful! I also love Roman+cheek squoosh+husband because there's just so much personality in it! Love. It. So. Much.

    ReplyDelete
  123. They are all soooo adorable, but my favourites are the Katherine and the quilt and Carrie and the dress.

    ReplyDelete
  124. The cheeseburger shot is my favorite... because it reminds me of an incident during my pregnancy that I won't admit to here but I'm sure you can imagine.

Also love the Roman cheek squoosh=)

    ReplyDelete
  125. I love the one with the block on his head - too cute! but I have to say, I would get pregnant just to wear that shirt - it is soooo GREAT!

    ReplyDelete
  126. my favorite is the little boy saying "off." i did the same at that age, but my word was "back." the projects are so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  127. I'm gonna have to say Cheeseburger because
A: You're as cute or cuter than any of the babies pictured and
B: Those appear to be Sonic cheeseburgers... instant swaying of my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  128. My absolute favorite is Reuben pulling off his top. The sheer frustration is so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  129. I love them all! I'm trying so haaard to get one of my own, but it's not working. My sister's growing me a nephew, though, and I hope he sleeps as sweetly on the quilt I'm making him as your little boy does on your quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  130. well I love the burger pic--for me it would have been 2 ice cream cones :) baby roman on the quilt is a beautiful photo. Happy Mother's Day

    ReplyDelete
  131. Marios! Those pants are too cute, plus him (of course) and all those close in the washer! P.S. Can't even get your book yet at the local stores! :(

    ReplyDelete
  132. Are you kidding! I love them all, but that one of little Roman sleeping on the quilt is lovely, and with my daughter turning one, almost makes me want another teeny baby (can't believe I'm saying that!) Well, husband is trying to talk me into it and maybe this book is all I need to get serious about number 2! (And by the way I would love the cheeseburger pic to hang in my sewing room!)

    ReplyDelete
  133. I just got your book yesterday and LOVE it. Another wonderful book Anna Maria. But since i have a dear friend who is expecting her third in June I'll just have to enter this too wonderful giveaway and say that the last picture with Marios and the blocks is just too stinkin' cute for words.
    Thanx, Holly

    ReplyDelete
  134. I love the one of Rueben trying to take the jacket off!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Lucky me I read the whole post ;) (Actually I always do; I am a blog stalker of yours!)
How could I pick a favorite? They are all so darn cute. I guess the picture of Carrie because my little girl is giving those wide-eyed photos right now, and I *love* them!
hanks for a chance to win.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  138. We can only pick one favourite?!!!
The Carrie pretty-as-a-picture photo is divine.
And the smoochable Roman with his Dad makes me laugh - the things babies have to put up with when their Mum's a designer :)

    ReplyDelete
  139. Love all these - and your friends have some adorable children...too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  140. Reuben's photo just killed me!!

  141. Thank you, for sharing the outtakes! You give me such motivation to get my own projects out the door this month so I have time to crack the book open!

My favorite photo is easily the one of Rueben. Children are such troopers...until they're not!

  142. Well, your cheeseburger pic is quite entertaining, but I must say that the picture of Mario is my favorite. Not only are the pants cute, but the model is so sweet and reminds me of my sweet baby who is always "pausing" my washing machine!

    ReplyDelete
  143. I just got baby fever looking at these pics! The dryer one really hit home, as my son used to do the same thing! I wish I had cute pants like that for him back then!!

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hands down. The one of you and the burgers. Hilarious.

  145. The cheeseburger is awesome...it is so exactly how I felt! And I love Rueben's expression!!!

    ReplyDelete
  146. How can one choose? If forced I's have to go with the one of your hubby and the man bag. It captures what I remember of my hubby and 4 daughters.

    ReplyDelete
  147. my favorite picture is of cute little Reuben upset in his jacket. i want to pick him up and kiss him! this book would be great for my baby i am having in august! Sacha

  148. my vote is for reuben. i think my son makes the very same face!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Baby Carrie, hands down. How can you be too cute to publish? I don't get it? Marios sporting cube fez is also to die for! Great pix to share, AM. Roman makes for great arm candy, btw.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I love Marios, soo cute!

    ReplyDelete
  151. Oh my goodness--!!! All of the pics are so adorable!

But oh my - Reuben just stole my heart (sorry - other cute and adorable babies). And props to Angela, she caught all of the emotion, temperature, and cuteness right before he appears to explode. Sorry it was hot Reuben, but boy you sure are a cutie!!

    Hugs to all the babies~

  152. OOh the spectrum quilt one is the sweetest! Although these pics are all so cute that I'd like to consider hiring a professional photographer and renting your sewing projects to get the cutest pics of my girl. lol. Too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  153. Other than you double-fisting the cheeseburgers? Definitely Roman on the Sixth Time's the Charm quilt - my youngest just turned one, and I'm missing those teeny baby days. Guess it's time for the next one...

    ReplyDelete
  154. just what I need - more baby pics to make my ovaries itchier than they are already. maybe if I show my husband teeny tiny Roman sleeping I could tip him into my way of thinking?

    Adorable.

  155. I love the big brown eyes of baby Carrie. She is really a very beautifull baby.
That's just to let you know, because I really never ever win something.
    Kind regards from The Netherlands,

  157. AH! I would buy the book of outakes for sure!!! Esp if the one of your punkin sleeping on the 6th times a charm quilt is included. Fun fun!

    ReplyDelete
  158. oh my goodness, those are some of the sweetest photos, ever! that photo of baby reuban next to the trike is especially sweet. something about seeing babes in distress... i just want to cuddle 'em up!

    ReplyDelete
  159. omgoodness! baby Carrie--those EYES! such long lashes! what a beauty she is!!

Now I have to go see what the mariposa dress looks like the other way...I thought you had just sewed an extremely clever nursing top, what do I know?

    ReplyDelete
  160. Haha, 2 favorites! The one of Reuben is great where did he get those eyes?! They match the bike *grin* The last one of Marios with the block on his head. How did you get him to do that and how long did it last? To cute, on all of them! Oh, and I'd love an 8x10 glossy of you eating cheeseburgers! (The book would be awesome to :) Love the cover!)

    ReplyDelete
  161. Reuben!! My favorite pictures of my babies/toddlers are when they are pouty lipped and crying. Isn't that horrible? It takes me back to that place in time. Smiles are always captured, but crying faces? Not enough.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I love them all! I'll say the nesting cubes, because I am making them now, but to use as storage containers for our craft/play room.

I was so thrilled to be the first, other than yourself, to post a project in the flickr pool - I was so excited to see that you commented, it made my day!

    ReplyDelete
  163. Ooh, it's a toss up between the eating for two photo and the adorable, sweet photo of Carrie! So cute!

    ReplyDelete
  164. My favorite is the laundry shot, but the face squoosh is a close second!

    ReplyDelete
  165. love the squooshy faced roman!

    ReplyDelete
  166. Oh my, they are all so cute! I don't think I can pick the cutest baby. So I'll go with the cheeseburger pic. :)

You look so beautiful and happy!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Great great pictures, it's hard to say which one I like the best, but I think it's Marios at the dryer - he's got such a great expression! Thanks for sharing!

I would absolutely have to go with Roman's face squoosh! I love, love the manly daddy arms hoisting the baby around like the pro he is.

What a great post, by the way! I enjoyed your commentary as much as I did the photos.

    In love with your vision,

  169. My favorite is the one of Rueben trying to take the jacket off. It's not the prettiest photo (that would indeed be Carrie - wow those eyes!) but it the most quintessential toddler - Every mom has a little one who does this one time or another! It makes me smile. :)

    ReplyDelete
  170. Reuben!!! I love that adorable boy face! The kind of face that just melts your heart! Awww.... little boys are so precious!

    ReplyDelete
  171. I love the one of Roman getting a squished cheek. How is it that Daddy's always get away with things like that? If we hold our babies like that they are screaming their heads off, but for some reason, if Daddy does it, they just deal.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Roman's face squoosh all the way - a-flippin'-dorable. Love your blog muchly!!!

    ReplyDelete
  173. I love that cheek smoosh! I got so many "why are you doing that?" questions for carrying my baby face down like that, but she loved it! It's especially cute with a strong dad arm.

Can't wait to see the book!!!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Now don't get me wrong- I love love love the picture of you eating your cheeseburgers because it's just awesome, but little Reuben made me laugh. Why is there something so cute about little ones when they're frustrated? I can't help but "aww" and want to help him!

    ReplyDelete
  175. Elaine12:25 PM

Oh they're all so cute!! I do love little Reuben though. His sad face is so sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I love the pants! and the jacket! and the dad bag! and all the babies! I really want to make all of these now.

    ReplyDelete
  177. As always, an inspiration!Claire is my favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  178. I think it would have to be baby claire altho' they are all very cute. I'd love a copy of the book and will hold off buying on incase I win! Julie

    ReplyDelete
  179. I love Roman's squished cheek - it reminds me of those days when they are so malleable - literally!!! What a great post - what you say is so true about being too cute and ovulating... good lawd! Can't wait to see the new book!

  181. I am loving me some teeny-tiny Roman. It reminds me of when my little nugget (Prue) was that little. She is 19 months now and seems like such a big girl.

  182. Love the smooshed baby face. So precious.

How can I pick a favorite. They are all so adorable. But if I had to choose 1 I'd say baby Carrie because you are right, it's probably illegal to be so stunning at such a young age. But a very close 2nd runner up would have to be the shot of Rueben. Too cute! Pick me, my neice and nephew would greatly appreciate all of these wonderful items.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Really? A favorite of all those cutie pictures?! If I must pick, I'll say Reuben modeling the jacket, and only because he looks so happy to be doing so :)
I'm itching to get my hands on a book and start sewing all these beautiful projects! Congrats on a job well done!

    ReplyDelete
  185. Roman and the dad bag. Added to the adorable pic is your use of the word flippin, I've never heard anyone from your side of the world use it before. Made me laugh x

    ReplyDelete
  186. Ack! how did you ever choose when you had so many adorable photos? I love the one of Marios at the washing machine- too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  187. Reuben is my favorite. I just wanna pick him up, hug him and shh him with laughter in my voice, cause it's so darn cute.

    ReplyDelete
  188. A favorite? As cute as you are, miss Anna Maria, I have to go with baby Carrie. Although that cheeseburger photo should be like, the poster for all pregnant women.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I love ALL of the pictures but am completely smitten with the Pretty-As-A-Picture dress :)

    ReplyDelete
  190. OH! The one of Carrie just KILLS me! Her eyes are MESMERIZING. I love your book Seams to Me...would love a chance to win your new book! Even if I don't win, I will definately be purchasing.

    ReplyDelete
  191. ack! how can i pick only one? i do love the Dad with smooshed cheek baby picture though. I love that the ways dads carry babies is so different than the way that moms do.

    so excited for the book!

    ReplyDelete
  192. I think they would have made the book even more fun :) Momma and the burger is my favorite, but Ruben has a place in my heart! My son does that at least twice a day. He really likes being shirtless or at least trying to pull it off and show off his belly.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Well, I have to say that despite all those adorable babes...my favorite is the hamburger one. I am newly pregnant and am still in the stinky sick part and I can't wait! to be at the eating hamburgers and sporting a full belly part. I am SO excited for this book! I have been waiting excitedly for it to be released, and am even more so now that we are expecting our own little one. Trouble is now I can't decide if I am hoping more a for a girl to make those cute little dresses for or a boy who will be darling in the pants!

Thanks for all the inspiration! I don't know how you do it.

    ReplyDelete
  194. I love the one where Rueben is trying to take off his jacket. Poor guy! He looks so cute with his lips stuck out all sad!

    ReplyDelete
  195. That little Carrie is too much! What a beauty! I also loved the blocks shot with Marios. I can't wait to try that pattern!

    ReplyDelete
  196. I'm as in love with that spectrum quilt as I am with these adorable pictures of babies, so I'd have to choose Katherine. Plus, I can't get enough of baby toes!

    ReplyDelete
  197. They are all so precious! how do you choose? I have to say I LOVE squishy baby faces so I think the one with your little Roman being held by his dad is my fav! So sweet!
I am sooooo excited about this book!!!

    ReplyDelete
  198. Picture number 2: The itty bitty baby feet on the quilt, sigh!

My youngest baby is just about Roman's age and how can I not love the one of him on the Sixth Times the Charm quilt? Oh the smallness. Makes me want to go smell my baby's head. :)

  200. A favorite? So mean to make us choose! I am going to have to go withe the squeezy-cheeked Roman with the dad bag because:
A-come on those cheeks! that face!
    and
    B-A dad bag...awesome.
My husband and I are currently trying for our first, so needless to say, I can't wait to snap up a copy!
Happy Friday and thanks for the giveaway!
