The light was beautiful across the mantle this morning so I messed around with the camera and some vintage vases from Jeff's Grandma.

Translation: I have some important things to finish up in the studio before the weekend and I am looking around the house in earnest for a distraction of any kind. Not picky about the distractions.

Have a great weekend! xoox, AM

  1. But what a lovely distraction... I totally hear you though. This morning I've cooked two meals ahead for next week AND cleaned the kitchen because I don't want to go and face the laundry monster upstairs! Hope you can buckle down without being down! At least it's Friday right?

  5. Your distractive antics are so endearing, and familiar... gee, what am I doing traipsing through the blogosphere, when the house is a mess, the children are sick and there errands to run? Lovely light, so worthy of our attention. Thank you very much for this sojourn.

  6. I am right there with everyone today! Instead of sewing and getting ahead on custom orders, I am reading my favorite blog! I won't mention any of the unfinished household chores I am also ignoring too! Happy Friday!

  7. What I am most impressed with, besides your photography, is that there is not a speck of dust on your mantel.

I can hardly wait for your new fabric lines to be released. I went to our local fabric shop today and came home empty handed...everything was so boring and Great Aunt Martha like. So (please - LOL) get back to work. Congratulations on finishing your book!

  9. What a beautiful distraction! That's what is hard about working at home, isn't it? If you try hard, there are distractions enough. :)

I'm with you on the distractions- I'm so busy avoiding what I'm supposed to be doing that I'm even considering cleaning the oven...

  11. Sounds like you need a 1000 piece puzzle. We'd buy one during every finals week in college- planned on needing a distraction from studying. It turned out ok. ~jen~

  13. A beautiful distraction. Love that yellow!

At times, I've even done housework to avoid finishing up a project that I was mentally "done" with. LOL

  14. Hello, I finally leave a message to ask if you would take a little game further. I named your blog for a YOU MAKE MY DAY award. Maybe you could take us towards ten of your favorite ones... so as to make us travel ?!
Thank you for the light of the day...

  17. Hi Anna Maria. Don't know if you participate in these, but I just awarded you a "You Make My Day" award on my blog, and apparently something not good will happen to us if we don't pass it along... Or I'm assuming so because it seems like they get passed a whole lot, don't they? LOL.
Thanks, btw, for "making my day" so often.
    Best,
    Bari

  19. Ah yes -- but a fun distraction. I know the feeling. I've been trying to distract myself from housework for far too long. Time to pay the piper!
