Keeping it together (who am I kidding?)

give.it.away.now

In the spirit of just barely getting by that I am so fond of, I wanted to share just a few un-artistic snapshots of life here lately as we ALL prepare for the big day. Juliana has been stacking and packing her little heart out so that audience members will walk away from the show with a little taste of chocolate. Go Juliana. She is a very valuable person to have around when you want to dream up all the possible ridiculous catastrophes that could ensue while tackling live TV.

be.right.back

This man has been around, managing a smile (fake ones sometimes) and has provided support for every detail of my website renovation. He was able to go out for a timed run yesterday and even checked his watch and promised to come back, which if you've been here lately, you'd know that means a lot. Oh. And. Uhh. He made homemade applesauce cause we had too many apples. Twice. I know. No clue how I managed this guy. And so easy on the eyes.

mini.me

Pumpkin pie number five has reminded me that as long as you know what you are doing even if you show up in mismatched pajamas everything will turn out beautifully. She is a genius.

So. Yea. It's a little hectic here, but a real undercurrent of excitement flows beneath all of us and our ship is afloat. I will most likely pop in for a super quick announcement once my new website launches tomorrow sometime and then Jeff and I will fly out Wednesday. Then we'll get to meet on tv, or at least you can meet me almost in person. For better or for worse. Glad to know you'll still love me even if I mess up. (Right?) And if I really mess up it could be a well watched segment on You Tube or something.

What a cutie little girl-maybe she didn't want to get paint on the pretty pink pajama shirt that would match the pants.

  5. How cool is this?! And by the way...did you get a haircut? It looks great (from what I can see of course!) Now, what I wouldn't give to be in the audience and get one of those nifty bundles you are making!

    Lots of Luck to you!

Of course we'll still love you if you "mess-up" (whatever that means). So, know that your fans are in your corner and just think of it as an opportunity to gain fans of your beautiful designs. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I hope you can shake those jitters..and have fun!

I've had the 15th marked on my calendar just so I don't accidentally miss it. We are in the midst of a gigantic west coast storm right now, and the power was off during most of the hour MS was on--hope that doesn't happen Thursday! Love your blog and your beautiful fabrics!

    Anna Maria--

Hi there! I read your blog daily. I NEVER watch TV...2 little boys under 2 years of age, and an at-home sewing business means lots of trucks to crash, legos to build, and purses to sew! HOWEVER, I am tuning in on the 15th! I am so inspired by your realistic, humorous, and ever so creative life pace! You are too fun! Watch out, Martha! Ms. Stewart, you are in for a wonderful treat!

    Love,

    Meghan Cobble :-)

How cool is that? I'm sure your mom is just about to pass out! My mom was talking about this yesterday at church...were your ears burning?

  30. You will no doubt be fabulous. Plus we will all be cheering you on through the televisions. Even my two year old was talking about "Anna" being on TV when my husband came home last week. He was a little clueless until I told him you were the designer of those fabrics he bought me for my birthday. :)

  51. Anna Maria,
My four children help as much as they can with my greeting card line and are much of the inspiration behind the designs, probably liike yours. I think it's great too that they see Mommy can have many roles...a great life lesson on combining your God-given talents and passions. Grateful too, for the supportive husband...we could not do all of this without them! I will be watching the show and am so proud of you...just smile and be you!

  56. Ah... the distress of the blessed! I feel for you, but, clearly you are in a *can't lose* situation. The anticipation and anxiety are the hard parts, for sure, so breath deeply, go with the flow and try to enjoy the ride, and then remember when all is said and done you get to fly home with that skilled, handsome, supportive man and arrive at a beautiful home, where 5 lovely children will continue to fill you with joy and awe. I will tune-in on the 15th, because I think your talent, grace and humor will carry you through and we will have the pleasure of meeting a generous and wonderfully creative woman.

  57. Anna Maria- I will be watching & supporting you on Thursday. Every crafter/mom type person I've seen on Martha has done really well, so I'm thinking that they help you every step of the way. I know you'll shine!
