Packing pin cushions

for.joelle

I'm off tomorrow to join up with friends in my patchwork circle to see what's shakin' in the Quilting world. I feel a bit like I'm playing hooky this time around as my next line of fabric won't be out till January, its only like a pre-release kinda thing with this market, so not too much pressure. I could use more engagements with that sort of mood attached to them. Speaking of engagements, I'll have some good dinners with good friends to attend to, so yes there is work to do! Chew, swallow, gab, chew, swallow, gulp, gab. Exhausting!!

I'm packing these little blossoms as gifts for my friends Jennifer and Joelle, who I can't wait to have a little pal time with. I honestly can not think of two girls who need pin cushions less than they must. Oh well. They have been so wonderful and generous to me, giving me whatever I need as I sew up the projects for my book. All the fabrics in the book will be from their gorgeous selection, so no, the book won't be only my fabric. It's not about my fabric, silly. Why are pin cushions so much fun to take pictures of?? Hmm.

Jeff made the most delicious chocolate chip cookies last night (again). I think he's trying to make sure that I'll come back home. Either that or he's trying to be the most perfect wonderful husband-dad-person ever. Yea. That has to be it. I actually will have a little travel companion this time. While I'm marketing, little Eleni will spend 3 days with her Godparents soaking up tons of affection and feeling right at home with their five kids who live just outside Houston. Such a big girl going on an airplane!! She can't stop asking about it. She gets this little glow in her eyes when we talk about it and I know there must be little butterflies in her tummy even though I can't see those. Ooo, I am so happy to take her along.

If you'll be at market do come and say hello! xoxo,Anna

I LOVE these pincushions!!! Do you think you could post a pattern for them? I could probably figure out how to make one on my own, but it would be so much easier (and prettier I'm sure) if you could help out!!!

I think you're great!

I got my American Girl catalog today and thought of you (wink). Maybe if you get yours it will help you get a little packing done!

I went to Houston in 2001 and had a little 5 week old traveling companion. It was a special trip--hope yours is great too!

It's already been mentioned, but would you do a tutorial for those pincushions? They are gorgeous!!!

Gorgeous pincushions!! I love the running stitch detail on the petals. Have a wonderful trip - sounds like lots of fun. I always enjoy little trips with just one of the kids, I think it makes both of us feel kind of spoiled :)

Oh my goodness..these are the cutest pin-cushions I have ever seen! I bet your little girl is so excited. We just took our 4 on their first-ever plane ride. About 15 minutes before we landed our 5 year old said (rather loudly), "Are we going to crash into the ocean now?". I hope you have a wonderful time!

I have been to two fabric stores in this area (the only two I know, since I'm new here) and they do not have your fabric or cute pins that go in darling pin cushions. I'll have to branch out and ask around. Beautiful pin cushions, by the way.

Those pin cushions are so fun, please share the pattern!

Can't wait to see your new fabric, when will we get a preview???

Have fun on your trip! I just flew with my 4 year old and I highly recommend bringing lots of stickers with paper and a little magna doodle. Those two things killed tons of time in the airport and on the plane!

Can't wait for your report after market!

I was visiting the archives on your sight and came across the adorable Christmas tree decorated with the vintage buttons and the Christmas hat with holly on it. Would it be possible to post a pattern for those? If this is a rude question, please disregard and accept my apology! Cheryl B.

Just stopped by for a visit. Loved your blog. I did stop by because of your name. I seen it on another blog. My daughter's name is DeAnna Marie. We call her Anna. I loved the pin cushion's. My Anna loves to sew and quilt. She is only 16 and is still learning. Thanks for sharing that with me. God Bless!

Yes, a tutorial for this would be wonderful!!!

Now I am SO sad I can't go to the show... I live in Houston, and have tried every year to go, but things always come up. I just bought a lot of chocolate lollipop, and I am so inspired by your blog, it would have been such a treat to say hi to you. Bummer!
