Just in case you have any grand ideas about life here, thought I should keep it real. 40 sq ft?? Yes thats how we measure laundry here, not by loads, but in square footage. Nuff said. Back to my corn pops and Silk milk. Looks like I need to replace some light bulbs. Oh its all so glamorous.

that's pretty much how our laundry looks all the time. We barely even bring it out of the basement. Run down to grab clean clothes. Change out of dirty. Run back up.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate! =) We have six wonderful kiddos...and they produce a lot of laundry. Amazing how when the cool weather comes in, how much more laundry we have. Love your blog and I can't wait for your book! God bless!

Actually, that's only half of our laundry! I folded and put away the other half this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGo Dad!
Oh my. But at least you have a washing machine! My neighbors have 8 children, and the mom and grandma are constantly hand washing little clothes - scrubbing every piece against a smooth rock, with cold water and a bar of soap. That's why, here in Mexico, we wear our clothes until their pestilence is simply unbearable!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the pile, and yay dad! for helping out!
I am really feeling like I have a kindred heart here........at least your pile is off the floor, dearie. I'm off to fold and at least we can think of all the other moms out there folding much loved laundry! Aren't our kids fortunate to have such loving moms! I need to change light bulbs in my chandy, too! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm in LOVE with the blue on your walls and am completely blinded to the laundry. Gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteThat looks very similar to 'Mount Connaghan' in our house!
ReplyDeleteOmg.. it looks like my laundry pile..lol.
ReplyDeleteI know how it is. I have four children and the washing never stops.
ReplyDeleteI love the benches!
Thats a pretty good pile you've got there! How nice for dad to fold the other half! And LOVE that color on the walls!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Our pile is usually on the living room sofa. Monday we had unexpected guests and it took 4 of us to run upstairs with armloads to dump it on the bed!
ReplyDeleteLooks like my laundry, and we are just 3 at home, the washing never stop.
ReplyDeletei love you for sharing this! you are too sweet!

Your table look like our bedroom floor... I think I am going to start measuring laundry in tonage rather than loads... though, I am now partial to your yardage system. Ha Ha. Glad to see I am not the only one with massive amount of laundry.
ReplyDeletelove it - real lives - we all have them - thanks for sharing. p.s. i jusy got around to replacing the 3 bulbs in my dining room lamp that have been out for longer than i even know.
ReplyDeleteWell said Sabina... I am happy for this post. Real life... and we all have it. I always giggle bc as soon as I get it up there is already something else on the floor!
ReplyDeleteI never thought about sorting laundry on my table. Great idea! My couch isn't big enough to hold it all anymore. Thanks for showing us real life on your blog.
ReplyDeleteAnother benefit to folding laundry on the dining table is that it gets you out of elaborate meals. Can you say cereal on the patio?
ReplyDeletexoxo,AM
My dining room lamp hasn't even worked since last winter (blush) and my laundry pile is always huge. What can you do when there are blogs to be read?!
ReplyDeleteOk, so maybe I shouldn't complain about the laundry for just one toddler -- but, well, I wanna sew instead! And lightbulbs? If you can still see -- don't worry about it.
ReplyDeleteHa! This is a funny string of comments... who knew the topic of laundry could be so interesting? Speaking of, I think I left mine in the dryer...
ReplyDeleteThat's a ridiculously huge pile of laundry! Perhaps you should move the closets in the basement next to the washing machine...no more lugging laundry around the house. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't explain it, but you've only managed to endear yourself even more...
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing... even your laundry looks good!
Your wall color is so beautiful! I love it! And your table too!
ReplyDeleteMy laundry ends up in the living room in the form of a mountain on the couch. I'm not even kidding about the size. My kids like to "slide down the mountain" like it's a game!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reality check. Makes me feel so much more normal. I needed that today! : )
ReplyDeleteha ha! Love it! keepin' it real - I like that.
ReplyDeleteI know this is going to make me sound like a total suck-up, but even your piles of laundry are awesome in that special you kind of way. OH yes, and that awesome table and shabby benches? Covet, covet, covet... so there! ~A :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the fact that you are no different than the rest of us
ReplyDelete! I remember when I had to do several loads a day or I never would have kept up:D It's been a long time ago........
We have that much washing and there's only two of us! I don't know how or where ti comes from, but we do.
ReplyDeleteWe have a clothes ROOM. We decided that it could have its own as we didn't want to have it in our bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you have a REAL life.
ReplyDelete~elaine~
It's good to see this happens in other places.
ReplyDeleteBon Courage!

I can relate...with three girls who love to change clothes every hour (seems like), my garage has an area which I lovingly call "laundry mountain!"
ReplyDeleteI'll think twice and three times before complaining about my laundry again...Thanks for the perspective.
ReplyDeleteToo funny - and all of the comments are wonderful too. My ironing board is only used in the craft (aka dining) room for pressing quilts.
ReplyDeleteWe simply pie the clothes and then toss them in the dryer with a damp towel and call that ironing.
hello new to your blog, gorgeous photos and your pile of laundry makes me feel a lot better about mine. My 4 year old asked me last week why the laundry bin is never empty!!
ReplyDeleteoh - this is totally random, but last night I was watching Brothers & Sisters and for some super strange reason, you can to mind. This is why - Sally Fields - mom of 5 (in the show, I'm not sure about real life) and looks fabulous & so young. I know you ARE young, but, anyway, it's a compliment. Have a nice day. Wish I was going to Quilt Market......
ReplyDeletelove it! hehe
