Reporting from Afghan-o-plan

Playful couch
Just an update on the current state of Grandma's afghan. Some of you seemed truly concerned, so thought I should share news of its safety. It is pleasantly warming the playroom couch. Well, maybe I can't assure its safety, but it is all in one piece. And it will remain in one piece. I like it here. The little monsters love it. I'll likely crochet, knit, patch my own funky cover for the ottoman instead, but the weather needs to cool off before I can get in the mood to do that. The rain is ushering in some of those cozy feelings though.

N'kay, back to housecleaning, hosting supperclub tonight. Hoping to share my little feast with you here tomorrow. xoAM

  1. The colors in your playroom are so fabulous!! Love that green wall.

  2. What a fantastic, cozy, and inviting playroom! LOVELY! Love the new home for the blankie! :) PS...YOUR rug is on sale! :) (but you already knew that, right!!!)

  3. Just read the update on your family and Greece... suffering no matter where it is leaves us all in a sorrowful state for others. I hope your Dad and relatives can find some hope in all of this tragedy. It sounds like you spread your joy to some readers there :)
I really appreciate the bright colors of your home! It must make you happy just walking through the house every day!

  4. SO CUTE!!!!! Love all of the colors!

  5. I've only just come across your site and have so enjoyed reading through and looking at all the pictures (will definitely be bookmarking it) - the 'make this with me' section is fantastic and has given me so many good ideas - thank you! (the perfect circle opens up a whole new realm of possibilities in stress-free appliquéing).

I love your fabrics - do you know where they might be available in the UK? (I've only been able to find one print on uk eBay, but would rather buy from a proper fabric shop if possible).

    It looks great there.

  7. I LOVE the decor of your playroom. The wall color is fabulous!!! FYI, don't know if you already have been nominated, but I nominated you as a Rockin' Girl Blogger.....I love reading your blog!

  8. Psst ... I just nominated you for the "Nice Matters" blogging award!

Also, I thought you might want to let your readers know that I'm having a sewing pattern giveaway in honor of my 100th post!

    You're the best, Anna Maria!

  9. Why exactly are they call afghans?

I found this little booklet "Women's Weekly Afghans to Knit and Crochet" from 1972.
It says "the afghan motif has found its way into fashion too. See the stylish vest and the top and hot pants set".

    I'm still none the wiser!

    What an inviting playroom!

  11. I know you are writing a book already, but you should write one about decorating your home with color, you have such a wonderful talent - you manage to make your home look warm and inviting using color but it's done with such style so that it's not garish or tasteless. Don't you just love how I add to your list of things to do?
